Let the Party Begin! Library Centennial Starts in 2010
2010 is an eventful year in Royalston library history. It marks the 100th anniversary of the groundbreaking, in August, for the construction of the Phinehas S. Newton Library. The library was completed in May 1911 and dedicated on June 28, 1911. Our celebration will begin this August with the children of Royalston celebrating during the Summer Reading Program. There will be lots of events throughout the year, so stay tuned.

Featured Artists
The exhibit of Donald Shambroom will remain until the end of February. Don has entitled his exhibit “The Children’s Room” and it includes larger than life paintings of his daughter in a topsy-turvy world, posters denoting the state of the world, and evocative painted flowers in the later stages of their lives.

During March and April, Liane Brandon will exhibit still photographs taken during the filming of Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women, which was named the Top of the List for movies by the American Library Association’s Booklist.
