Mission Statement
The Phinehas S. Newton Library strives to be an integral part of the community to support open and equitable access to popular materials, information, and services that will provide lifelong educational, personal and recreational enrichment, and interaction. It is dedicated to being a community center to provide a wide range of materials and services to help residents of all ages obtain information in a varied formats and to act as a cultural center for the enjoyment of its residents.
Vision Statement
The Phinehas S. Newton Library is a welcoming place that serves as the hub of the community. It will strive to maintain a comfortable place for people to gather, to enjoy the pleasure of reading and information gathering, and express and satisfy their curiosity. It will be dedicated to being a cultural center by providing innovative programming for the enjoyment of its residents. It will sustain its viability through excellent customer service, attention to the ever evolving needs of the community and to stewardship of financial and physical resources. The Library will provide information through traditional and electronic means on a broad array of subjects and work to maintain a well-balanced, robust collection of interest to the community. It will work with other organizations to create a resource on the history of the town and as a center for lifelong learning and creativity.
